Easter Celebration

Pink midollina sticks and grasses frolic through this Easter centerpiece. This playful basket of white mini callas, shades of blue delphinium, and soft amaranthus is finished with rolled aspidistra, a few fluffy feathers and wire artistry. Butterflies flutter about the curly willow.

2019 Art In Bloom

My interpretation of “Sunny #4” by Alex Katz at the Milwaukee Art Museum. I am grateful to be a participant in this wonderful event. Thank you to all who came to see it!

About my design:
The first thing I see in this painting is a cube–as if I was looking at the corner of it. The water would be the top plane of the cube and the grasses would be the sides. A topiary of flowing florals and grasses represents “Sunny” and a pink Cattleya orchid gives a strategic pop of color, signifying the dog’s tongue.
